Ermelo is conveniently located for discovering the Veluwe. It lies in the middle of the forests of the Veluwe near the Veluwe Lake.
You can cycle and walk through the beautiful nature and horseback riding and game watching are also possible.
The Veluwe Lake with the beach of Ermelo; "Strand Horst" invites to swimming, sunbathing, wind and kite surfing. You can also take sailing lessons, or let yourself be sailed on an original fishing boat or a cruise boat.
There are golf courses on the beach, in the Leuvenum Forest, in the polder and in the nearby village of Nunspeet.
The village of Ermelo has an elongated shopping street with a variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants. Among other things you will find here the nicest bookstore in the Netherlands! You can also visit the mill and the adjacent museum "Het Pakhuis".
