Animals
Many different animals can be found in the surroundings of Ermelo. There are the 'big five': the Scottish highlander, the red deer, the wild boar, the roe deer and the fox, but also smaller animals, such as the badger, the squirrel, and the hedgehog, and even smaller; the viper, the sand lizard, and various insects and butterflies. Last but not least; the 'king of the Veluwe animal kingdom' has returned: the wolf! There are also animal parks nearby, where you can admire more exotic animals and do not forget to visit the sheepfold of Ermelo with a large herd of Veluwe heath sheep.

In and around Ermelo there are numerous food and beverage outlets; from cozy cafes, lunchrooms, pancake houses and snack bars to international cuisines and Michelin-starred restaurants. Here are some addresses in Ermelo. However, Harderwijk and Putten also have many nice places!
Culture
In the field of culture and history, Ermelo has quite some interesting and fun things to offer. In the rural surroundings are a number of museum farms and beautiful estates. Almost every village or town has its own windmill and there are a number of interesting museums.
